So, I’ve been filing reports on a co-worker for over 6 months. We even had a meeting with my boss, his boss, and the director about it. Now, out of nowhere, HR pulls me in and says I’m being accused of sexual harassment and drug use at work. I didn’t do anything, and I feel like this is all retaliation because I reported her. I have documentation of everything, but they don’t have any proof to back up these accusations. Anyone know what steps I should take next?
That sounds like retaliation for sure. Did HR give you any specific details about these accusations?

Nope, just vague stuff about incidents from months ago with no dates or evidence.

That’s sketchy. If they can’t provide evidence, how are they even justifying this?
Have you presented your documentation to HR? That should help show that you’re being targeted.

Yeah, I showed them everything I’ve been documenting for the past 6 months.

Good call. They can’t ignore that kind of evidence.
Maybe it’s time to get a lawyer involved. They can help you with filing a retaliation claim.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. Just trying to figure out the best way to proceed.

Check out local lawyers in your area. Someone with experience in workplace cases would be ideal.
Did they offer you any way to defend yourself, like a drug test or something?

Nope, they just threw the accusations at me without anything concrete.
This definitely sounds like a retaliation case. You might have grounds to file a claim if they’re targeting you after your reports.

Yeah, I’m planning to look into it more. Just wanted to hear what others think first.
