Adreno 830 beats Adreno 750 by 40 percent in Geekbench test

If anyone’s curious, the jump between Adreno 740 (in SD 8 Gen2) and Adreno 750 (in SD 8 Gen3) on Geekbench OpenCL was 57%, going from 8918 to 14027. So this one shows a bit less improvement than the previous gen.

If power use is decent and the 830 ends up in the XR2 Gen3, we might finally get some good graphics in standalone VR headsets.

@Koa
Or maybe the future of standalone VR is something more like the next Steam Deck. I bet Valve will try something like that in their next headset.

Maybe both will exist at the same time.

It’s not a Mali benchmark though, it’s Adreno, which helps for things like Winlator!

Geekbench should include power usage in their stats.

I agree. As I’ve said before in other threads, these short run tests often push performance by dumping extra power in. Without more details, it’s almost useless.

How would they even measure that? Don’t folks like Geekerwan and Golden Reviewer have special tools to hook up to the motherboards? These are just benchmarks people upload. Plus, these early ones aren’t always accurate and may not reflect the final product. So, right now, it’s just building up hype.

Another win for the handheld Android emulator crowd.

Cool, now my games can run even faster.
