Hey guys, so I’ve been having a problem with my GPU, which is an AMD 6800XT Red Devil. I’ve had it for about 2 years without any issues, but things took a turn recently. I changed my PC case in October, and I had an IT shop swap the parts for me. The problems started showing up at the end of December, so I don’t think the new case is the culprit. Lately, when I’m under heavy load, I get a black screen on both monitors and the GPU fans ramp up to 100%. I’ve checked my driver settings and everything is up to date: BIOS, GPU drivers, and AMD chipset drivers. I even stress tested my GPU with FurMark, and while I managed to run it for 15 minutes without crashes, it seems to crash at random times. When I check the Windows Event Viewer, I see an error related to hardware called Kernel141. I could really use some tips on how to resolve this. Thanks for any help.
That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue once, and it turned out to be a power supply issue. Have you checked if your PSU is providing enough power?
Black screen crashes can also happen if the GPU is overheating. Have you checked the temperatures while under load?
I had a similar black screen issue, and it was due to a driver conflict. Maybe try rolling back your GPU drivers to an earlier version.
Kernel141 errors can sometimes indicate a deeper hardware issue. Have you run any diagnostics on your RAM or CPU?
Sometimes a simple cable issue can cause problems too. Have you checked the connections for the GPU and monitors?
