Anyone else surprised by Man Utd’s Antony situation?

Just read that Manchester United might sell Antony at a huge loss… like €50 million? :flushed: They paid so much for him, but I guess he’s been a bit disappointing. Only 12 goals and 5 assists in 86 games. What do you guys think about this? Is it time to move on?

Yeah, I saw that too. Can’t believe they’re willing to lose so much. Honestly, he hasn’t lived up to the hype at all.

Right? I thought he’d be the next big thing for them. Guess not. :grimacing:

Same. I mean, €95 million was a huge gamble and it just didn’t pay off.

They might be cutting their losses now, but 46 million still sounds like a lot to recover. Do you think they’ll find a buyer at that price?

IDK, man. Maybe a club outside of Europe would go for it? Seems like a stretch tho.

Yeah, true. They’d need someone with deep pockets to take that risk again lol.

Wait, what does ‘Canarinho’ mean?

Oh, that’s just a nickname for Brazilian players, like Antony.

Ahh got it, thanks!

Tbh, it might be a good idea to sell him now. His confidence looks shot, and Man U could use the cash to invest in other players.

Yeah, I feel like they could use that money to bring in someone more reliable.

Exactly. Maybe reinvest in the midfield or defense instead?

Honestly, I think Antony could still turn things around if they give him more time. But I guess it’s hard to justify keeping him after that huge price tag.

Maybe, but time’s running out. United need results now.
