Anyone here who’s dealt with dealerships around Western NC? I’ve been waiting and checking around, especially in the Asheville area, hoping to find something without too much markup. Thinking of just ordering instead of waiting.
Got an email from Asheville Ford offering a 2024 Lariat hybrid, but it’s listed $10k over MSRP. The online price says MSRP, but then they added a markup in the email… feeling pretty annoyed with them now. Anyone have better luck or other recommendations nearby?
I ended up getting mine from Crossroads in Kernersville. They had a 1K markup and a $900 tint package add-on. I managed to talk them down from a 7K markup on a Lariat.
Honestly, I wanted the truck and didn’t want to wait another 6+ months. My trade-in would probably lose 500-1K if I waited, and I’d have to get the tint done myself anyway, so the deal saved me some hassle.
If you call around every week, you might get lucky like I did and find one at a more “reasonable” price, but it took me 6 weeks of calling every dealership from the coast to the mountains.
I’m not in the far west of NC, but I just got my Maverick Hybrid from Mooresville Ford. I ordered it, waited 475 days, and they honored the MSRP price. For trucks they have on the lot, they do a 3K markup; not as bad as Asheville Ford’s 10K.
The staff was nice and didn’t push any extras on me. The only thing is they have a $799 doc fee, but other than that, I’d recommend them.
I had the same problem with Asheville Ford last summer. It was disappointing because I was a returning customer and had a great experience before.
I ended up ordering through Ken Wilson in Canton and just got my truck last weekend. It took about 6-7 months, but at least there was no markup. I’m pretty happy with the decision.
My mother-in-law has a place in Franklin and stays there part of the year. Last year, I tried to find an abandoned order or a pre-owned model, but every dealer I checked was marking them up like crazy.
I’m in Burnsville, and I ended up going with Johnson City Ford in Tennessee instead of dealing with Asheville. I’ve had a great experience with them, even after a year. The Asheville dealership just has too many bad reviews, and I’d rather drive a bit further to TN to avoid the headache.
I live in Graham County. After trying with local dealers, none of them would sell the truck I ordered for MSRP or lower. So I ended up buying mine from a dealer in Kentucky. The drive was worth it, and I just got my '24 model three days ago.
