Anyone know how to delete all my old unread messages at once?

I’ve got way too many unread messages piling up from last year, and I can’t seem to get rid of them all at once. I can’t find a ‘delete all’ button. Anyone know a quick way to clear them? I’m on Android, btw. I really need to clean up my inbox, lol.

I had the same problem, lol. There’s no built-in ‘delete all’ option, but you can try using the multi-select feature. Open your messaging app, long press on one of the messages, and you should be able to select multiple messages to delete. It’s not perfect, but it’s faster than going one by one.

Thanks! I’ll try that. I’ve been deleting them one by one, so that sounds much better lol.

Another trick I use is clearing out my entire conversation history from the settings. It’s a bit extreme but definitely clears everything if you’re okay with losing old chats.

Oh, I didn’t know you could do that. I guess I’ll give that a try if I want a full reset! I was just looking to delete unread ones, though.

For real, there’s no easy way to delete all unread messages at once. You might be stuck manually clearing them or using the ‘select multiple’ feature. I hope they add a ‘select all’ option one day, though!

Yeah, it’s a pain. Hope they fix that soon!

A lot of people recommend using third-party apps that clean up your messages for you. I’ve never tried them, but maybe it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for something faster?

I’ll look into that. Do you have any app recommendations?

I’ve seen people mention Clean Master or CCleaner, though I’m not sure if they handle messages specifically. Worth a shot if you’re looking for a general cleanup app.

Another thing, if you’re using Gmail for messages, you can archive unread messages and they won’t show up in your inbox anymore. It’s not deleting them, but it might help with the clutter.

Good tip, I didn’t think of archiving. That’ll at least hide them until I can clear them out.
