Anyone know how to get a letter about my Walmart exit date and last paycheck?

Hey guys, I used to work at Walmart Hudson as an online pickup associate, and I need a letter stating when I left and what my last paycheck was. I’m not sure if I left in September 2012 or 2013. Can anyone guide me on how to get this letter? :sweat_smile:

You should try contacting Walmart’s HR or payroll team directly. They should have everything on file, and they can provide you with the info you need. Have you already reached out to them? :woman_shrugging:

I hadn’t thought about HR! I’ll give them a call today. Appreciate the suggestion! :blush:

I was in the same situation with a past employer. I ended up sending a demand letter, and it worked pretty quickly. I found a cheap template on contractscounsel.com, which saved me from hiring a lawyer. Worth a look! :bookmark_tabs:

@Zadie
That’s super helpful, thanks for the link! I didn’t realize it could be so easy. I’ll check it out for sure. :smiley:

If you still don’t get a response from HR, you could escalate it by getting a lawyer involved. Sometimes a letter from a lawyer makes companies respond faster. :telephone_receiver:

Yeah, I’m trying to avoid that if I can, but it’s good to know that option is there. Thanks for the heads-up! :blush:

It might help to have the details of your last paycheck on hand when you reach out. That’ll make things go smoother. You could even ask for the letter via email or text, depending on what works best for you. :e-mail:

@Gael
I’ll definitely ask for an email version. Good call, thanks! :+1:

If they’re still not being helpful, you can try filing a complaint with your state’s labor department. They could help speed up the process. :fire:

I didn’t even know I could do that! I’ll look into it if I need to. Thanks for the advice! :pray:

This might sound random, but I’ve had luck just calling and asking for a direct callback. Sometimes getting a person on the phone works better than emails. :man_shrugging:

That’s a good idea. I’ll try calling them and ask for a callback. Thanks for the tip! :smiley:
