I’m considering homeschooling my child, but I’m not sure where to begin. Does anyone know the first steps to take or how to officially enroll them?
The first thing you should do is reach out to your local school district. In Florida, for example, you’ll need to register as a homeschool. They can’t turn you down.

That’s really good to hear! I didn’t know they couldn’t turn you down. Thanks for the info!
@Zephyr
Yep! Homeschooling is your right as a parent. Once you reach out, you’ll just need to fill out a few forms. Nothing too complicated.
Once you contact your district, you’ll likely need to submit a letter of intent. Florida has a simple form for that. You can find everything you need on their site.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into the letter of intent. Glad to know it’s all so simple!
Another thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need to create a curriculum or choose one from various options available. You can do it yourself or find a guide online.

We actually already have the curriculum ready, so that’s one less thing to worry about! Thanks for the heads up!
If you’re in Florida, here’s a helpful link for homeschooling resources: Parent Home Education Resources

Perfect! That’ll definitely help. Thanks for sharing the link!
It’s all pretty easy once you get started. Just make sure you’re in touch with the district to stay updated on any changes or requirements.
