So, I was told my urine test came back with a quantitative result of 34, and that’s why it’s considered positive. They also said the first test result isn’t available unless I pay $250. Does anyone know if this is standard practice?
Sounds like they’re only giving you the final test result. Usually, they do a screening first and then a confirmatory test if it shows anything.

Yeah, they said the confirmatory test result is what counts and won’t show the initial one.

Makes sense. The confirmatory test is supposed to be more accurate, so they probably just focus on that one.
Do you know which lab did the test? Some labs, like Quest, only show the confirmatory result if it’s positive.

Yeah, it was Quest. They seem to treat that 34 result as the final word.

Quest is known for that process. They’ll stick with the confirmatory test as the main result.
The ‘quantitative result’ just shows how much of a substance was in your sample. That 34 is specific to your sample only.

Ah, thanks! I thought it might be from multiple samples or something.

Nope, just yours. Each person’s test is separate, so that 34 is only from your sample.
The $250 fee sounds steep just to see the initial test. Are you sure it’s necessary?

Yeah, I’m debating if it’s worth it. They’re relying on the confirmatory test, so I might skip it.

Good idea. If they already consider the confirmatory test as final, the first one might not add much.
Are you meeting with an attorney soon? They might know if getting the initial test is worth it.

Yes, meeting Friday. I’m going to see if they can help with the arbitration and maybe an EEOC complaint.

Good luck with that! Hope they can help sort things out.
