This was my first attempt at flying FPV. Apart from some practice on Xbox simulators, I’m totally new to this. I know I need way more practice, and I’m thinking of trying again earlier in the day next time.
Why does this video feel like it’s from a 1986 VHS tape?

Honestly, it feels like that while flying too. The headset makes it even worse—it’s almost disorienting.

Nah, this is definitely beta quality.

It’s analog for sure.
So… the LAND NOW warning wasn’t enough for you?

I get why it’s there, but if you monitor the battery on the screen, you can usually estimate how much flight time you’ve got left. When I crashed, I think I had around 30 seconds to a minute of flying still.
@Zara
So you’re saying you had 30-60 seconds before your battery was toast? The video was okay until you went below 3.00V. That LAND NOW alert usually means the voltage is dangerously low, and you’re risking permanent battery damage.
Safe storage voltage: 3.70-3.85V per cell
Max voltage: 4.20-4.30V per cell
Minimum safe voltage: 3.00V per cell
Going below 3.00V can really mess up your battery, so it’s good to keep an eye on that.
@Pax
Didn’t know that! Thanks for explaining. I’ll definitely take better care of my batteries moving forward. I’m still just getting started with FPV.
@Zara
Not much flying left once it hit that tree though .
You’ve got to charge the battery first, man. Air65 is such a fun one to fly .

I need to buy a charger first… waiting to get paid haha.
Flying until your battery is completely dead is not a good idea. It’s like flying a plane until you run out of fuel. Always keep some reserve to safely land.
You nailed it though.
That flight looked rough, sorry about that.

No worries! This little drone is almost indestructible, luckily.
There seems to be some signal break in your video feed.
This kind of looks like some of the FPV footage from Ukraine. Always running on low battery.
You need much better antennas for this.

I was thinking the same. I’m checking out new receivers, but I’ll also need a soldering kit to set them up.
