Anyone with a big swivel chair... can it be half on/half off a rug?

We’re thinking about upgrading our accent chair to this oversized swivel chair from Article. :heart_eyes: The problem is, our rug isn’t big enough to fit the whole chair base and the couch legs underneath. We have the length but not the width. So, I’m curious; does anyone have a big swivel chair like this with the base half on and half off a rug? I just don’t want it to wobble or feel uneven. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar chair, and I’ve done half on/half off a rug before. It worked fine for me. Just make sure the part on the rug is stable.

Not really. It was pretty stable. Just check the rug’s thickness too.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. As long as the chair isn’t super heavy, it should be okay. I have mine half on the rug and it’s been fine.

What do you mean by ‘super heavy’? Like, how heavy are we talking?

Lol, just anything over 100 lbs. I think that might cause issues.

I had the same concern. I ended up getting a larger rug just to make sure everything fit. It looks way better too.

Honestly, I don’t think it’ll be an issue. My friend has a swivel chair and it’s half off the rug and it’s all good.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I feel a bit better about it now. I’ll have to check the rug sizes again.
