Are drones allowed to fly near major accidents? What are the rules?

Here’s a link to a picture I found.

The drone was definitely above 100 ft, and they shouldn’t have been given instant approval. I guess they could have gotten instant approval, but not for flying above the 100 ft grid.

I’m not from the US, but one thing I’d suggest is checking if there are any helicopters in the area before flying a drone. During major incidents, helicopters might be hovering for evacuations, police, or news coverage.

How would you feel if someone you loved was in the accident and couldn’t be airlifted because a drone was flying overhead?

I don’t know, but I was listening to the scanner during the accident, and the police mentioned a drone in the area and were trying to figure out who it belonged to.
