Best Fishing Spots Recommendation

I’m planning a weekend getaway with my family and we’re all really excited about doing some fishing. I’m looking for recommendations on the best fishing spots, both freshwater and saltwater, as we enjoy a bit of variety. Ideally, I’d love to find places that are not only great for fishing but also have some amenities or activities nearby for the kids to enjoy. Maybe a nice picnic area or hiking trails? We’re willing to travel a bit if it means finding a perfect spot. Any hidden gems or personal favorites you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Look for some rivers or creeks. I use the Fish Brain app primarily to see nearby fishing locations and read other people’s evaluations. the’s the reason I suggest downloading the app, lol.

Hey there, if you’re going for catfish and carp, grab a can of corn. Load your hook up with it and let it sink to the bottom. Then use the rest of the can to chum around your hook. They’ll smell it and go for it.

Pine Lake has a pleasant pier where one can throw out while standing or sitting. Access to fishing is available on the coastline of Beaver Lake from the park side.

When it comes to finding a great fishing spot, it’s all about paying attention to the little details. Just look for areas with ample cover, like submerged logs, as these provide perfect ambush points for hungry fish. Moving water, whether a river or a stream is also a good indicator that fish will be present and actively feeding.

It may take a bit of exploring, but trust me, the thrill of reeling in that big catch at the perfect fishing hole makes it all worth it.
