Best steamy bathroom ceiling paint choice?

Hey everyone, I need advice on the best paint for my newly redone bathroom ceiling.

The bathroom has poor ventilation, causing steam to linger on the ceiling after showers. Ceiling is low, about 8 feet, with the shower head just 1.5 feet below it. The ceiling had a mildew problem, which I cleaned and prepped with a mold and mildew primer, followed by a skim coat and another primer coat.

I know higher sheen paints like semi-gloss offer good protection but show imperfections. I was considering Benjamin Moore’s Aura Bath and Spa paint but am unsure if its matte finish would be durable and easy to clean.

What is the best paint choice for a white bathroom ceiling that can handle moisture, last long, and be easy to clean if mildew returns?

Guess what? You are right on the Benjamin Moore’s Aura Bath and Spa paint. I’ve done previous repairs on many bathrooms and all the clients have been satisfied since you know it is a 100% acrylic, water-based latex that’s resistant to humidity and moisture

The matte is washable and I think it just provides an aesthetic feeling

BM Aura has a specific bath and spa line for high humidity applications

Stick with semi-gloss for good quality. If you go with low sheens like flat, you might get water in and the skim coat could start flaking. Eggshell could work but semi-gloss is safer.

There are many to choose from and they come in many different finishes. I would recommend a semi-gloss for extra protection from humidity and moisture.

A duo primer and Benjamin Moore Aura *Bath & Spa matte-finished ceiling paint for bathrooms is a wonderful option to accentuate health
