Hey folks, quick question—do homeowners have any right to stop a school bus from picking up kids right in front of their house? There’s a corner nearby that seems like a better option, so I’m kinda confused why they’re rerouting it. Also, my address was shared with the school district without me knowing. Anyone else had a situation like this?
I don’t think homeowners can stop it. It’s public space, so the school can pretty much choose any bus stop location.

Yeah, that makes sense. It’s just frustrating when they don’t let you know beforehand.

True. But if it’s causing too many issues, I’d definitely recommend bringing it up to the school.
If it’s causing noise or inconvenience, you could always contact the school board. They might be willing to listen to complaints.

Good point! I didn’t think about contacting them directly. I’ll try that if it becomes a problem.

Yeah, sometimes schools will change things if enough people raise concerns. Worth a shot!
Wait, your address was shared without you knowing? That seems pretty sketchy. Have you agreed to any communication from the school?

Not that I’m aware of! It’s really surprising that they’d share it like that.

Yeah, that sounds shady. You might want to look into that further, maybe with the school district.
Have you reached out to the school yet? Maybe they don’t even realize it’s a concern for you.

I haven’t yet, but I guess it’s worth talking to them first. Thanks for the advice!
Just a heads-up, schools usually won’t change bus routes unless there’s a safety issue. You might want to frame it like that in your complaint.

Good idea! I’ll definitely mention safety if I write to them.
