Hey everyone, I need to change my oil, but I can’t afford to replace the filter until I get paid next week. Is it okay to change the oil now and replace both oil and filter later? Or should I just wait and do it all at once?

You can technically change the oil without replacing the filter, but honestly, if you’re planning to do it all again next week, just wait. Unless you’re driving an insane number of miles in the next few days, it’s not worth doing it twice.
I wouldn’t recommend changing the oil without the filter unless you’re barely driving in between. Like, maybe if it’s just 100 miles or something. The engine won’t suffer if you wait a bit longer—just do both at the same time when you can afford it.
Yeah, you can do it, but it’s not a great idea. Better to wait and do both together.
You could, but then you’re buying oil twice, and that’s more expensive in the end. Just wait until you can change both at the same time.
Waiting a week isn’t going to cause any harm. Just hold off and do the job right when you can. And by the way, avoid cheap filters like the low-end Fram ones—they’re not worth it.
I’m a little confused. An oil filter is like $10 at most, way cheaper than the oil. Why not just grab one now?
Always change the oil and filter together. The filter only costs about $10, so there’s no reason to skip it.
