Can I screen mirror my iPad onto my old MacBook?

I just bought an HDMI to USB-C adapter and am trying to screen mirror my newer iPad onto my old MacBook. The iPad shows a connection, but I can’t see anything about another screen in my display settings. Is it because it’s an iPad and not a monitor? I want to use it as a drawing tablet, but I’m getting desperate here. Any help would be awesome!

Nope, your MacBook can’t be used like a monitor since it probably only has HDMI output, not input. There might be software for streaming screens, but I don’t use a Mac, so I’m not sure.

You might want to check out some other options. What you’re trying to do just won’t work that way.

I think there are apps that can help with that. Have you looked into using something like Duet Display?

Yeah, Duet Display is a good option! Just make sure your devices are updated. It should help with the drawing tablet setup.

What do you mean by HDMI input and output? I’m kinda lost there…
