Looks like Chelsea are ready to move on from Badiashile this winter. It’s kinda wild considering they dropped €38m on him just a year ago. With all the defensive competition, he’s fallen behind players like Colwill, Fofana, and Disasi. Anyone think this is the right move or too soon?
I feel like they didn’t give Badiashile enough chances. Seven appearances this season? That’s barely any playtime.

For real. He had a lot of promise. Maybe Chelsea’s defensive depth made it hard for him to shine.

Exactly. Plus, Maresca’s system doesn’t seem to favor him. IDK if a move back to Ligue 1 would help.

Yeah, but sometimes cutting losses early is better than keeping a player who doesn’t fit the system.

True, but Chelsea could’ve been more patient. They’ve got a habit of giving up on talent too quickly.
The competition in defense is tough, though. Colwill and Fofana have been solid, and Disasi is versatile.

Yup, and it’s not like Badiashile’s bad. He just hasn’t outperformed the others. Hard to stand out.

Agreed. Chelsea’s defense is stacked. Maybe Badiashile needs a fresh start somewhere else.

I’d think mid-table Ligue 1 clubs might jump at the chance. Maybe a team like Lyon?

Makes sense. But if they do buy him, it’ll probably be at a big discount. Rough for Chelsea.
