Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now, and I finally need some help. My PC used to freeze if it got bumped, but a restart would usually fix it. Now, it freezes randomly and sometimes won’t even post. I’ve tried reseating my GPU and moving around the RAM sticks, but I’m not sure what else to do. I’m not super tech-savvy; my dad built this PC for me. It froze while I was watching YouTube and downloading a game from Steam. When it doesn’t post, my RGB fans and RAM sticks don’t light up, and the monitor doesn’t detect anything.
Have you checked if the power cable is securely attached? Sometimes that can cause issues. If it’s secure, try unplugging it for about 15 seconds and then plug it back in.
I haven’t tried that yet, but the power cable seems secure. I’ll give it a shot!
Also, you might want to try booting with just one RAM stick at a time. If it posts with one but not others, you could have a faulty stick.
Good idea! I’ll test them out and see if that works.
Glad to hear you’re checking the RAM! If it doesn’t post with any of them, you might want to look at other components. Just make sure everything is securely connected.
Did the fans stop spinning at any point when you try to power it on?
Nope, the fans always keep spinning. They don’t quit at all.
An update might help too! Sometimes resetting the CMOS can clear up these issues. Just take out the battery and pop it back in.
Update: I tried the RAM sticks method, and it worked! I found out that 2 out of 4 of my RAM sticks don’t work, and the PC won’t post with them. Thanks for the help!
