I’m not a fan of Phulay Bay. It’s mostly on a hill away from the beach, and there’s a strange gypsum plant nearby that has a chute to the boats right by their beach. It feels like a strange place for them. The newer Banyan Tree has a better location just down the beach, but I’m not impressed with it. The rooms are odd, and while all have private plunge pools, some are completely shaded and never warm. It’s only a few years old and already showing wear.

My husband and I are making the same choice right now! We planned to do the Four Seasons in mid-December but are worried because we noticed that December weather can be a bit unpredictable.
Krabi seems to offer more activities, but I’ve stayed at two other Ritz Carlton reserves, and I can say that it doesn’t always match the usual Ritz Carlton experience.
If you want more excitement, it seems the Ritz Carlton in Krabi is the better choice. If you’re looking for a quieter stay, you can’t go wrong with Four Seasons.
The Ritz Carlton in Krabi is really beautiful! We stayed there for a family trip last year and had an amazing time. The beach is nice, and we loved the pool villa experience.
