Found my drone… what should I do with my DJI Mini 2SE?

I managed to recover my drone after a crash. Any advice on fixing it?

Try gorilla glue. Works wonders for these kinds of things.

Yeah, that or epoxy works really well.

Gorilla glue never fails for me. Always handy .

I’d recommend JB Weld.

Specifically the JB Weld plastic bonder! Even if it’s late for the person who posted this, that stuff is a lifesaver.

Exactly, it chemically bonds everything so well.

You can find replacement arms on Amazon for a reasonable price. It’s a straightforward fix if you’re comfortable with disassembling and replacing parts. If you’re not, an electronics repair shop could do it for you.

Speaking from experience, I replaced two arms after a crash from 30-40 feet onto concrete.

@Zed
I did something similar with my Mini 2. It’s manageable if you’re used to repairing phones. The soldering part is the trickiest bit, but not too bad overall.

What worked for me was soaking a cloth Band-Aid in super glue. Did this two years ago, and it’s still holding strong.

You can get a replacement arm and motor for about $37 on Amazon for the Mini 2. It’s easy to repair if you’ve got the tools.

That’s true, but the soldering can be tricky. You’ll need steady hands and the right equipment. I had to ask someone more skilled to help with mine.

@Adi
I found it fairly simple overall, but patience is key. The hardest part was getting the pin in place while rotating it. My wife helped with pliers while I turned the pin.

Haha, my wife wouldn’t bother helping me with stuff like this. I’d have a better chance asking her for something random on a weekday afternoon.

Anyway, if you’ve never soldered before, this might be a bit much to handle.

For a Mini 2 SE, it’s pretty sturdy despite the damage. If you’ve got some gorilla glue, that might be all you need.

Mine disconnected as soon as it crashed. Weak GPS signal and snow didn’t help. Thankfully, I remembered where it went down. I’ve used JB Weld, and it’s curing now. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I broke a rotor arm on my Mini SE early on. I used either epoxy or super glue (can’t remember exactly) and it wasn’t perfect, but it worked for a year until I lost it fishing. Some plastic adhesive should do the job.

Had the same issue with my Mini 2. I layered JB Weld Steel epoxy and fiberglass cloth. Took about a week but feels stronger than before.

Best option is replacing the arm. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube. If you can solder decently, it’s a cheap and straightforward fix.

This makes me second-guess buying a DJI Mini 4K. Were you being careless, or is this thing that fragile? Did you have DJI Care?
