So basically I’m having a lot of problems with my PC. I recently got a virus (an info stealer) and factory reset my PC. Here’s where the trouble starts: when I shut off my PC, it gets stuck on the ‘Shutting down…’ screen and I have to unplug it. Also, Fortnite and GTA V aren’t working. I click to open them, but GTA V just says ‘Loading’ and Fortnite says ‘Running’ with nothing happening. Please help, I’ve tried everything.
It’s likely your Windows install got corrupted. Make a bootable USB and completely wipe your storage. Factory resets often don’t clear everything.
And make sure to reinstall your drivers manually after that.
The built-in factory reset usually just messes things up. You really need a clean install.
Haha, so true. That’s why I always keep a clean install on a USB.
Check your drivers in Device Manager for any unknown or malfunctioning devices. That could be causing issues.
I’ll check that out! Thanks for the tip.
Yeah, you really should format your C: drive and do a clean Windows installation. Also, check other partitions if you have them.
Exactly. If there’s a virus, formatting and starting fresh is your best bet.
Did you do a full wipe before reinstalling Windows? Some viruses can live in the BIOS, so be careful.
Yeah, definitely delete your partitions during the clean install to be safe.
Did you update your GPU driver after the reset? That might be affecting your games.
I haven’t checked that yet. I’ll look into it!
You can also try verifying game files. The reset might have messed them up, but Steam or Epic should help with that.
