So I applied to a nursing program, and it’s been one issue after another. At first, they told me my classes didn’t count, so I filed a complaint. After that, I got put on the alternate list, but my acceptance letter had the wrong date (September 2023 instead of August 2024). They apologized when I pointed it out, but now I find out I’m dead last on the alternate list. They take 40 students plus 20 alternates, so my chances of getting in feel super low. This whole process has been exhausting. Should I talk to the Dean or just accept it and move on?
That’s so frustrating. Did they ever explain why your classes weren’t accepted at first?

Yeah, they said my Anatomy & Physiology course was too old (over 7 years), and my Microbiology class didn’t transfer.

Ugh, that’s annoying. They should’ve made that clear before you applied.
Wait, they messed up the date on your letter too? Sounds like they’re disorganized.

Yeah, the date was totally wrong. I had to email them to get it corrected.

If they can’t even get a date right, I’d definitely ask them for more details about their ranking process.
Did they tell you why you’re last on the alternate list? That seems kinda sketchy.

Nope, they just told me my number after I asked. No explanation.

That’s not cool. If they have a ranking system, they should be able to explain it.
If you feel like something’s off, I’d reach out to the Dean. Worst case, they don’t do anything, but at least you’ll know you tried.

Yeah, I’m debating it. Just don’t know if it’ll change anything.
