Hack Squat vs. Leg Press Machine

I’m revamping my leg workout routine, and I’m stuck between two machines: the hack squat and the leg press. I know they both target the legs, but which one is better for building muscle and strength? I’ve tried both before, but I can’t decide which one I like better or which offers a better workout. Some people at the gym say the hack squat is more like a squat, while others swear by the leg press.

Anyone have a strong opinion on hack squats vs. leg presses? What are the pros and cons of each?

Hack squat>Leg press, while the latter is better suited for beginners and the former for more experienced lifters due to its higher levels of stimulation. Although the hack squat is amazing, it can be difficult on your knees. Always warm up your legs before performing the hack squat.

Hack Squat: This one mimics a regular squat more, working your quads, glutes, and core. It might feel a bit more challenging on your stability muscles. People who like squats often find the hack squat more comfortable.
Leg Press: The leg press isolates your quads more and can be easier on your back. It might also allow you to lift heavier weights. However, it doesn’t work your core and stability muscles as much.

So, which is better for building muscle? It depends…

I prefer The hack squat to leg press, It is a more difficult exercise, and engages more leg, core, and back muscles.

Leg press is simple and more available in most gyms I like it
