I’ve been having some issues with my service credits not being recognized. I worked at Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District (GLCSD) from 2016-2024, but they didn’t credit me for time I worked at other districts like Lakeside High School, Houston ISD, and Austin ISD. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times, but I feel like I’m getting nowhere. Anyone else go through something like this? Any tips on how to get it sorted?
Ugh, I totally get it. I’ve had similar issues with my pay records not matching up with the years I worked. Did they give you any explanation as to why they didn’t credit you for those other districts?
@Taliesin
No clear explanation at all! They just kept saying they’d fix it, but nothing ever came through. It’s like they’re brushing it off.
This sounds so frustrating! I had a similar situation with missing service years from past schools, and it took forever to get them to fix it. Have you talked to HR about it?

I tried talking to HR, but it’s been like pulling teeth. They keep promising to look into it but never really do anything. It’s like they don’t care.
That sounds rough. I’ve had issues with HR ignoring stuff too. If you have all your records and emails, I’d suggest filing a formal grievance. It worked for me when I had problems with my pay.

I’m thinking of doing that next. Honestly, at this point, I’m running out of options. A grievance might get their attention.
Have you considered filing a complaint with the EEOC? If they’re not honoring your service years, that could be a discrimination issue. It might be worth checking out.

I hadn’t really thought about the EEOC, but it makes sense. Do you think it’s discrimination though?

It could be. If they’re not recognizing your work experience and messing with your pay, it could be a case worth investigating.
I had a similar issue where they didn’t count my service years, and it took so long to get it fixed. It helped when I brought up my records and sent everything in writing. Maybe try sending an official letter?
@Ode
I’ve sent a ton of emails, but maybe an official letter would get more attention. Thanks for the suggestion!
