Hey, I'm new here... Is this still flyable?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask if this drone is still good to fly. I’ve had a few rough landings, and the props are showing some wear. What do you think?

Man, I wish my props were clean like that. It is perfectly flyable

Those props have definitely been through some rough times after hitting a few trees.

You should see my 5-inch racer beater. The props are hardly recognisable, looks like I flew through a wood chipper twice.

Even my whoops props are a bit chewed… They just sound more aggressive now.

@SadieKristen
It’s not damage, it’s character.

@SadieKristen
They need to sound tougher to scare off bigger threats.

Mines been flying for two days and they’ve already begged to be put out of their misery.

Golden rule of drone flying - new props are cheap, new drones are expensive. You decide .

That drone doesn’t look expensive. But yeah, with DJI drones, replace props when in doubt. On FPV drones, we just keep flying them until something burns out.

I thought the golden Karen rule was BVLOS?

There’s more than one golden rule. For example, ‘don’t be an idiot’ is a solid one.

@Gray
Dammmm! Nothing is ever simple.

The people telling you to change them must own a stake in the company that sells these things. Nah, those props are near perfect.

As an FPV pilot, that made me laugh.

I don’t change props until the camera jello starts giving me motion sickness.

FR.

I had the same concern, and it turns out it doesn’t matter. It might affect it in a minimal way, but nothing I’ve noticed.

My Mini 2 SE has taken a few hard hits, and it flies like a champ. I lost control after hitting a tree, spun in circles, flipped over, and the blades got messed up. I turned it off, cleaned it, changed the broken prop, and left the other ones with minor damage. It flew just as well as before.

One thing I learned too, the propellers are a little special, so you have to pay attention to which one you’re replacing, or it won’t fly. Someone could explain it better than I can.

@Cleo
My Mavic Mini got stuck under the recliner today, full throttle. My Yagi range extender things will be here Tuesday. I hope they improve the range. Even a little would be a win.

Will it fly? Yes. Should you fly it? Maybe. What would your aviation authority say? Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. What would a professional pilot do? Change the props—they’re cheap. What would an FPV pilot do? Fly it until it stops working or crashes. What would your lawyer say? Change the props to protect yourself from negligence. What would your insurance company say? Not covered if you’re flying a damaged aircraft against manufacturer instructions.
