My daughter has been dealing with some serious bullying at school. It even escalated into a fight, and now she’s suspended. The school did mediation, but the bullying and threats haven’t stopped. I’m wondering what legal steps I can take to protect her. Any advice?
That sounds terrible. Maybe start by contacting the school district? Sometimes they step in if the school isn’t doing enough.

I’m considering that. I just want to be sure we have a record of everything in case it keeps happening.

Good idea! Keeping everything documented is key if you need to escalate things.
Have you thought about something like a cease and desist? Could be a way to show the other kids that this needs to stop.

I actually hadn’t thought of that! Not sure if it’s something that would work, but I’ll look into it. Thanks!

It might be worth a shot, even just to show them you’re serious about protecting your daughter.
Schools are supposed to have anti-bullying policies. Have you checked to see if they’re actually following theirs?

Good point. I might push the school to be more specific about what they’re doing to keep her safe.

They should be more proactive if there’s already been a fight. The school needs to do more to prevent it from escalating.
If the school isn’t stepping up, maybe think about talking to a lawyer. They might be able to help you find options.

Thanks, I’m definitely keeping that option open. I just want to know she’s safe at school.

Makes sense. Sometimes schools only respond when they know a lawyer is involved.
Documenting every incident is a smart move. If it keeps happening, it’ll help show the school you’re serious.

Yeah, I’ve been keeping track of everything just in case we need it later.

Good thinking. It’s important to have that record if you need to go up the chain.
