I added an inch to my irons and noticed a huge improvement after a few lessons. I’m 190 cm, by the way.
It’s probably the lack of play for a decade. Proper fitting helps, but it’s about building back the swing with clubs that fit you.
Breaking 90 isn’t about the clubs. You only need three reliable clubs to break 90: driver, wedge, and putter.

Can you expand on this? I’m a high handicapper and struggle with shots between driver and 7 iron.
@Beck
Focus on accuracy rather than distance. Hit a 7 iron and wedge; it’ll improve your score.

What’s your driver/7 iron distance? I bought a 5 wood, and it was a game-changer for gaps in my set.

My 7 iron can vary between 140–170 yards. Working with a coach to build consistency.

Watch Golf Sidekick videos for strategy advice on breaking 90. You need control over fewer clubs but to stay in play and manage the course.

It’s all about tee shots and approach shots to improve.

Thanks for the advice! I’m sticking with one coach to focus on improvement.

Tee shots and approach shots are key to improving.
Bryson beat guys with kids’ clubs in videos. Shows it’s the golfer more than the clubs!
