How many pangolins are left in the world?

I was reading an article which claimed that pangolins are the most trafficked animals in the world. Going by the shocking numbers, who has the specific data on how many pangolins are left in the world?

I am a lover of animals and it is sad that all of them may be killed?

I don’t have that specific data but I know 200,000 pangolins are poached every year. Very sad

Although precise population estimates are challenging, there are approximately 50,000 pangolins left worldwide.

These unique creatures, covered in protective scales, are often mistaken for reptiles but are scaly-skinned mammals. Their elusive, solitary, and primarily nocturnal lifestyles make them hard to monitor, contributing to the difficulty in estimating their numbers.

However, given the demand for pangolin meat and scales, as well as the significant seizures of pangolin scales in recent years, their population is believed to be declining. Efforts to protect pangolins are crucial to prevent their extinction.

Accurate estimates of the global pangolin population are challenging to determine due to their elusive, nocturnal nature.
However, it is widely recognized that all eight species of pangolins are experiencing significant declines.
Each year, up to 200,000 pangolins are poached from the wild, primarily for their scales, which are used in traditional medicine, and their meat, which is considered a delicacy in some regions

Hello, Ronald. There are supposed to be fewer than 2,500 of them left in the world.

I personally don’t know how many pangolins exist because they are solitary and hard to find, and scientists haven’t been able to count them accurately.
