Had a rough time with an HR investigation at work. They accused me of bullying a coworker but didn’t give me any specific dates or examples when I asked. I wasn’t allowed to provide any evidence either, which seems super unfair. They also said I ignored an email but refused to tell me which one. Now I’m wondering if I should look into getting legal advice. Anyone been in a similar spot?
That sounds messed up! HR is supposed to let you respond to stuff like that. Maybe they didn’t follow their own process.

Exactly, feels like they skipped over the usual steps. Not sure what to make of it.

If they’re not letting you give your side, that’s definitely something to raise with a lawyer.
Did they ever change their story during the investigation? Sometimes that’s a red flag that it’s not being done properly.

Yeah, first they said it happened on team calls, then switched to one-on-one calls with no proof. Feels really shady.

Sounds like they’re trying to cover themselves. A lawyer could help sort that out for sure.
If they’re saying it affected your performance but won’t give details, that’s suspicious. Are you documenting everything?

Definitely keeping notes on everything. Just wish they’d give actual details instead of vague stuff.

Good move. Documentation is key if you decide to challenge anything.
If they told you not to talk to anyone, that’s a bit extreme. HR can’t just tell you not to ask for help.

I know, right? Feels like they’re trying to control the situation. Didn’t sit well with me.

Might be worth bringing that up if you speak to a lawyer. Seems off to me.
You might want to reach out to the state labor board too. HR can’t just ignore your right to defend yourself.

That’s a good idea. I’ll keep it in mind if things keep going south. Thanks!

Good luck with it! Sounds like you’re doing the right thing by standing up for yourself.
