I think I’ve become used to the sound of all alarms. Right now, I have Alarmy and Loud Alarm, but they just aren’t cutting it.
You should try a deaf people’s alarm clock… seriously. They have a shaker that goes under the mattress.
I had one of those before. Normal alarms failed me, but that shaker worked every single time.
Have you thought about seeing a sleep doctor? There might be something else going on.
Sometimes it’s in your genes. The ADA gene affects how deeply you sleep!
Haptic alarms exist. Do you have a smartwatch or smart bulbs? Those really help with a super loud alarm. Just set the alarm on your watch to vibrate and sync it with the smart lights to turn on at a certain time.
Using a song as my alarm worked wonders back in school. Especially ‘ME’ by Taylor Swift… that would have me jumping out of bed every time! You can always change the song if you get used to it.
This is my go-to… at full blast it wakes me up immediately!
How about some heavy metal? A loud song with screams and fast drums might do the trick.
I got a Pavlok watch that zaps you awake. It won’t stop until you complete a task, like scanning a QR code in another room. It works most of the time, but sometimes I ignore it. Just a heads up, you’ll wake up really annoyed, but at least you’ll be awake! If you try it, get the silicone band with the lock because I used to take it off in my sleep. The battery isn’t great, so charging it every morning is a must. Oh, and you can customize your alarms with the app to choose zap, vibrate, beep, or all three.
Do you have ADHD? I’ve noticed that people with ADHD seem to sleep better!
Try getting some sunlight in the morning without sunglasses. Just a bit of exercise can help reset your internal clock so you don’t need an alarm.
Before bed, suggest to yourself that you’ll wake up at a certain time. For example, say, ‘At the count of 10, I will wake up at 5:30 AM.’ Just try counting it down.
Sunrise alarms or deaf alarms could work for you.
Why not go camping for a week? It could help reset your sleep cycle. When you get back, take down the curtains in your room, and you should find it easier to wake up.
You might try putting a song alarm across the room… it could help you get up.
A crying baby will definitely wake you up.
As a deep sleeper and mom of two, I can say that didn’t always work for me. Sometimes my husband had to wake me to feed the baby.
Wow! I wake up if a bird flaps its wings outside, but my wife sleeps deeply. Our babies would always wake her up. I wish I could bottle your talent and sell it online!
It’s not really a talent when I’m so slow and groggy at night when they need me. It’s hard to get up in the morning. Someone else here said they wished they could sleep heavily too, but both extremes have their problems. Heavy sleepers who can’t wake up don’t feel good about it.
