Hey everyone, I set up Chrome OS on a live USB, and it works fine, but it’s really laggy. I tried playing games, but they need a touchscreen and won’t work with my mouse and keyboard. I even tried using key mapping apps, but no luck. Any advice?

The USB is probably too slow, and you might not have enough RAM. Also, the touchscreen needs its own driver.

I hear you, but my laptop has 8GB RAM and an i3 11th gen processor.

It’s not about the speed of your system, it’s the USB connection speed.
Look up what paging means.

ChromeOS doesn’t use disk paging, just zram.
Honestly, using a USB to install an OS is okay for testing or fixing stuff, maybe some light work like writing. But gaming? No way. Gaming needs fast access to files and USB just isn’t up for that. You’d need to install Chrome OS on an internal drive for that.

The game runs, but it won’t work with my keyboard or mouse.
Ah, I see. Yeah, a lot of games from the PlayStore are made for mobile devices and expect a touchscreen. Some don’t even have keyboard/mouse support since they were never designed for it. I’ve run into the same problem, especially with apps originally made for phones. It’s tricky using a laptop for stuff meant for mobiles .
Wrong place, you probably want to check out a forum that focuses on Chrome OS Flex.

Got it, thanks!
