Is a 15g Toy Drone Still Affected by Airspace Rules?

@Dakota
DJI lists that small airport on their no-fly map near my house and wants me to get permission before flying. But with my Part 107 license, I should be able to fly with caution near that small private strip.

@Rowan
You might just need a DJI unlock, not LAANC. DJI tends to get things wrong based on maps, not local info. Maybe you could get them to update it to an Enhanced Warning Zone?

Technically, yes, but since it doesn’t have a RID transmission, no one will know. It’s a toy, but honestly, most drones are considered toys. Just do what feels right.

You can’t fly it, but these drones aren’t really that powerful anyway, so they’re best for indoor use. There are no restrictions indoors.

Build a $90,000 pole barn for a $25 drone… guess we all have to make it work.

In one comment, you mentioned wanting to fly indoors. If that’s the case, you don’t need to worry about the no-fly zone. The FAA doesn’t care about indoor flying. It’s when you go outside and risk a flyaway that you need to worry.
