Is it wrong to listen to rap music like artists such as Lil Uzi (I’ve heard he’s into some dark stuff) or others in the rap scene? If it is, I want to stop listening because I’m trying to avoid doing bad things. Hopefully, it’s not wrong, but if it is, I’ll quit. Let me know what you think.
Rap? Nah, man… REAL Catholics only listen to St. Hildegard von Bingen and Gregorian chants all day long.

Honestly, some of those chants are fire
Rap itself isn’t wrong. Listening to music that talks about bad stuff isn’t bad as long as you’re not doing those things yourself.
I’m not a big fan of rap; it’s not my thing. But maybe ask yourself if you like what your favorite artists sing about? Do you feel okay supporting it by buying their albums? If it’s just the beats you like, you could find versions without the lyrics too.

I don’t like the stuff they sing about like drugs and other things, but I just enjoy it. I’ve never bought an album or anything like that. The beats are great, but the words kinda add to it, you know? It’s hard to explain.

I get you. I listen to nu-metal, and some bands have views I don’t like, but the music is just too good to ignore.
Maybe you can find instrumental versions of the songs you like?

Yeah, I’ll check that out. Thanks for your time and advice. God bless.
Gotta shout out my man Kanye.
Listening to music isn’t wrong. But if you’re chanting hymns to Lucifer, then maybe it’s time for confession
I think Uzi’s just putting on a persona because his music’s pretty dark. Lil Wayne is Catholic and I think his music is better.

Yeah, I’m a big Uzi fan, but he’s talked about joining the 27 club (where people supposedly die for Satan at 27), and I’m not sure I believe it. I agree, his music can get dark, but is it actually bad to listen to him?

The 27 club isn’t about Satan; it’s just that a lot of people lived fast and died young.
As long as you’re just enjoying it for the music, you’re fine.

Oh, I thought it was something else. And yeah, I’m just listening for fun. Thanks for clearing that up. I’m trying to be a better person for God.

Lil Wayne’s great, but I’ve got some better music. OP, I can send you some good tracks through PM if you’re interested.

No, but some of it might not be great for your soul.
