Hello, I’ve got this issue with my second monitor, it starts showing weird lines and colors when I turn on my computer. You can barely see the desktop at the top. The issue started about a month ago, but it used to fix itself in about 30 seconds. Now, the time has been getting longer and today it hasn’t fixed itself even after 15 minutes.
This same thing happened with another monitor two years ago, and I ended up replacing it. I’d rather not have to buy a new one again if there’s a fix for this.

I can’t see the video, but maybe it’s a loose connection, a bad cable, or a damaged graphics card?
Have you tried switching the ports or the cables? Does the problem move to the other monitor if you switch things around?
I’ve switched cables and ports, but the problem stays with the original monitor. My older monitor is around 7 years old and works just fine. I got this one less than a year ago, so I’m not sure why this is happening again. I’m also still figuring out how to share the video for you all to see the issue.
Monitors don’t really get corrupted like that. They either work or they don’t. If one monitor works and the other doesn’t, then it sounds like your monitor is defective. Try swapping the cables and ports just to double-check.

I’ve uploaded a video of the problem here:
I don’t think it’s the graphics card because the monitor shows the same problem even when it’s not plugged into anything.

If it’s not the graphics card, it could be a bad cable. Try switching cables first since that’s cheaper than replacing the monitor.

I’ve tried using the cable from my other monitor, but the issue is still there. Even when I disconnect the monitor from my PC, the problem remains. So, I don’t think it’s the GPU.
Well, it sounds like the monitor is the issue then. Looks like you’ll need a new one.

I just want to make sure I know what caused this, so I don’t run into the same problem with a new monitor.
¯_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe try buying a different brand next time?
