Hi everyone. My dad has Bluetooth hearing aids, and he told me he can hear his phone ring from another room, but he can’t stop the call or mute it without getting to the phone. I thought a smartwatch might be useful for him. He uses an Android for personal stuff and an iPhone for work, so it would need to work with both.
He also does a lot of physical work, so it needs to be durable. I was checking out the Garmin Instinct 2, but I don’t have much experience with smartwatches.
One more thing… he has arthritis. Any advice on what might work for him?
I don’t know of any smartwatch that can connect to two phones at the same time, but maybe there’s one out there. Just so you know, even basic fitness bands can let you reject calls, so he could maybe wear one on each arm if that’s an option.
The Instinct 2 is great for durability, but it might not be ideal with his arthritis since it relies on buttons. That could be tough if his hands are affected.
You might want to check out the Amazfit T-Rex. It works with both Android and iPhone (though I’m not sure if it can handle both at once—you’d need to look into that). It has a mic and speaker, which could be handy for him. It also supports touch, so most things can be done without using the buttons, which could be easier for him.
You could check out the Garmin Instinct 2 (rugged and shows call/text notifications), the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 (good for calls and works well with both Android and iPhone), or the Fitbit Versa 4 (lightweight and might be more comfortable for someone with arthritis).
