Looking for fun hobbies to do during work breaks?

I enjoy diamond painting and crochet, but they take a lot of focus. I’ve been spending more time on screens lately, so I’m searching for a new hobby that won’t tire my eyes. Any ideas for hobbies I could do during my breaks while working from home?

How about reading a physical book, drawing, listening to a podcast, or journaling? You could also work on your schedule, write a to-do list for after work, or do some homework if you’re in school. Some coworkers even take naps in the hangout rooms. I’ve been doing work-related stuff during my breaks to keep work separate from home.

I buy word search books and do those while waiting for files to download at work. It keeps my mind busy and lets me jump back into work easily when I’m done!

Origami, drawing, journaling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, making crosswords, playing mobile games, and solving puzzles are all great options.

You might like making jewelry or perler bead sprites.

If you’re working from home, you could try some vocal exercises. My hobby is keeping my cats safe and happy. I also have a balance ball in my office to use between calls or during long meetings, it’s nice since the camera is optional.

How about getting a Steam Deck? Playing games on it is way easier for short sessions than using a full desktop PC or a console.

I’ve been trying wood burning (pyrography) and find it super cozy and satisfying during the colder months.

I had to Google this since I never heard of it before. Lol. I think I would love this! I’m going to order a beginner kit and see how it goes

That’s awesome! I’ve made some cool stuff with just a beginner kit from the craft store. They usually sell small live-edge wood pieces, which is what I use for most projects. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks

Have you considered chain mail? The basics are easy to pick up, and you just need two pairs of pliers and some jump rings. You can make a simple bracelet in a few hours.
