Back in 2006, I got my diploma from Capital High Online, but I’ve since lost it. I’ve been trying to figure out how to contact the school to get a copy. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any advice on what steps I should take?
Oof, that’s rough. First step would be checking online for any contact info. Even closed schools sometimes have some way to reach them.

Yeah, I’m worried the school might not be around anymore. What happens if I can’t find any info?

If they’re shut down, your state’s education department might still have the records. Worth reaching out to them.
Did you try looking up alumni groups? Sometimes people from your year might have helpful info or leads.

Not yet. Do people really still keep in touch through those?

Definitely! Facebook or LinkedIn are good places to search. You’d be surprised what pops up.
If you’re completely stuck, you could look into getting a GED instead. It’s a valid replacement if you need proof of completion.

I really hope it doesn’t come to that, but it’s good to have a backup plan.
FYI, there are services that help retrieve records from schools that shut down. They might be worth checking out.

Do you know which services I should look into?

Yeah, Parchment and DiplomaSender are two good ones. They specialize in this kind of thing.
Was Capital High Online accredited? If so, the accrediting organization might have records or info.

Not sure, how would I even check something like that?

You could try an archive search for their website or contact your state’s education board to see if they know.
