Hey everyone, my sister-in-law, Janda, had a phone interview with Social Security scheduled for 1 pm today, but nobody called her. We’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes now and not sure what to do next. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Would appreciate any advice!
Yeah, that happened to me once. I ended up calling the Social Security office directly to let them know. Did she try calling them?
Yeah, she’s trying but the wait times are super long. It’s a pain!
It’s always slow with them… Sometimes going in person works better.
Oh true, in-person might be the faster option. Has she thought about going to the local office?
We didn’t even think of that, thanks! We’ll try it if the phone thing doesn’t work.
Did she get any confirmation about the appointment? Sometimes they send a letter or an email.
Yeah, she got a letter confirming the appointment, but still no call.
Weird… maybe try asking for a reschedule if they don’t get back to her soon?
What is she trying to apply for? IDK if that affects anything, but it might.
She’s applying for her ex-husband’s social security benefits since he passed away recently.
Ahh got it, thanks. Hope she gets through soon!
Thanks! We’re crossing our fingers!
Tell her to have all her documents ready when she calls or visits the office, like their divorce decree, his death certificate, and bank info for direct deposits.
Yeah, she’s got everything prepared! Just need them to actually answer.
Honestly, phone calls with Social Security can be such a hassle. I had a better experience just going to their office in person. Faster too!
Good to know! Might just do that if we don’t hear from them soon. Thanks!
