I just bought a fantastic new top-of-the-line PC, and it was working great until I tried switching the HDMI from my TV to my old laptop. After transferring files, I switched the HDMI back, and now there’s no signal to the monitor. The HDMI cable works with the laptop, but no signal from the PC. I have restarted, checked input settings, and updated drivers, but I’m stuck. How can I check drivers or resolution settings without a functional monitor?
You might have already tried this, but if the machine is booting even with a blank screen, wait a few minutes and press Win + Ctrl + Shift + B. It can reset the graphics driver.
I tried that too. It wasn’t the problem, but I resolved the issue. It was a dumb mistake on my part, but tech websites are terrible, and I’ll take responsibility for it. The mistake was mine, but the design and bad guides contributed to the confusion.
