My microphone has not been detected by Windows 10

So about a couple of days ago on the 23rd, I was playing with some friends talking to them on Discord. I went downstairs for dinner, and when I came back, my headset didn’t work on my PC but it does work on my phone. I had a Logitech G432 which I thought was the problem, but it turned out to be wrong. I ordered a Logitech PRO X SE (Wired), and yet to no avail, my PC just does not pick up my own voice. I have tried numerous solutions, including making sure that my microphone is turned on, confirming that Windows is detecting it, and checking that other apps can use it. I have also reinstalled drivers, updated drivers, tried different USB ports, and even went through the troubleshooting process. I uninstalled the Logitech G Hub software and reinstalled it, reinstalled Discord, looked for different Windows updates, disabled fast start-up, and so on, but nothing seems to work. I have tested this setup so I know it is not just purely Discord that is the problem; other applications, including Logitech’s G Hub, do not pick up the sound of my microphone either. I am extremely confused as to how and why this occurred, and I would like to fix this as soon as possible, as it is genuinely annoying. So if anyone has a suggestion as to how I could resolve this issue, please do tell. I have been at it for about three hours now and cannot find a working solution. Thank you.

Hi, I’m not super tech-savvy, but I had the same issue as you on Discord. The exact same thing happened to me. For my case, the issue was that I had inadvertently disabled my microphone using a button on my keyboard, which for me was F4. It took me a while to figure it out, and I thought it might not be your problem at all, but I just wanted to share my experience in case it helps you out.

Yeah, thanks for the reply. At first, I thought it was Discord causing the problem. However, it turned out that even with different microphones, they still don’t pick up anything I say. The only sound I can hear is a light humming, which I presume is just background noise from the microphone itself.

I understand how frustrating that can be. Have you checked your microphone permissions for the various apps you are using? Sometimes, if the permissions are not set correctly, sound can be blocked, which might be why you are experiencing this issue.

I will definitely look into that. I appreciate the suggestion. It seems like there could be so many factors at play here, and I really want to get this sorted out.
