Need advice on persistent blue screen issues

Okay, so I work for a state government agency and have been working from home for 5 years using a WiFi dongle because they’re too cheap to buy computers with built-in WiFi cards. They just got us all new computers, which still don’t have WiFi cards, and within a month I started blue screening. It got worse, and we discovered the dongle was causing crashes. They reimaged the computer, but now, about a month later, it’s happening again. It crashed while booting, even with my router off. My wireless headset and keyboard also started having issues. Tech support keeps blaming my internet and saying I need to upgrade it, but my internet has been fine for years. I feel like I’m being gaslighted. They won’t replace the computer and insist it’s my fault for not changing my internet. What are your thoughts?

Have you checked for BSOD dump files? If you can access Windows, look in C:\Windows\Minidump for crash logs. If you find any, zip the folder and upload it to a file sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com for analysis.

That sounds really frustrating. It definitely doesn’t seem like it’s just your internet if you’re crashing with the router off. Have you tried testing with a different dongle or another USB port?

Honestly, it sounds like they’re just passing the buck. If the system was working fine before getting the new computers, it’s unlikely that your internet is the problem. Have you thought about getting a WiFi card yourself?

It might be worth escalating this issue within your agency. If they refuse to acknowledge that the hardware is at fault, document everything and consider filing a complaint.
