Need help getting a copy of my disability date letter

I’m trying to find the letter that confirms my disability date for my insurance company, but I can’t seem to locate it. Has anyone had to get a replacement before? Is it easier to call or should I use Social Security’s website?

You can request a new letter through the My Social Security account if you have one. I lost mine once, and it was easy to get it online.

Yeah, it’s a site where you can manage your Social Security stuff. Just sign up, and you’re good to go. Really useful!

If you can’t get through online, try calling them. They helped me out over the phone when I needed a new letter.

I went to my local Social Security office, and they printed a new copy for me right there. It was pretty quick.

Just be ready to answer some security questions if you’re doing it online or by phone. They’ll ask for some info to confirm it’s you.
