On the nebulous and unfounded assertion that a vest keeps the arms warm

If you wear a vest at 45°F, your core will stay warm, which can help maintain overall body warmth :coat:. However, your arms won’t be as warm as your core and may still feel cold. Vests mainly keep the torso warm, so your arms might feel somewhere between the 55°F and 45°F scenarios. They won’t be as warm as your core but should be slightly warmer than if you weren’t wearing a vest at all :snowflake:.

Invest in a jacket rather than a vest if you want your arms to remain as warm as your core. Individuals react differently to cold and temperature regulation. For me, my arms feel about the same between 45 degrees and 55 degrees if I’m wearing long sleeves, but my centre feels frigid at 45 degrees. During exercise, my arms heat up and remain warmer than my torso, so I don’t need to heat them. My arms and legs frequently begin to perspire before the rest of my body does.

It seems like people have forgotten how to dress themselves properly.

You’re considering it too much. Simply try it out and notice how comfy your arms are. It’s not that challenging. These sleeves work well for vigorous use or if your arms get warm easily because they are smaller and don’t bunch up at the elbows. You should not feel compelled to purchase one if you are not interested.

There are too many variables to pinpoint exactly how warm your arms will feel when wearing a vest. It’s comparable to how different people respond to different strains of cannabis; even when two people consume the same strain from the same batch, their bodies respond differently. Ultimately, you may need to test out a few vests before deciding which one is ideal for you. For me, an Atom LT vest works well as a shell and a middle layer on chilly days because I become overheated rapidly.
