Hey, Something strange happened last night. As the title suggests, someone had control over my laptop. My mouse moved on its own and opened programs. In a panic, I quickly turned off my PC and router to disconnect it from the internet. Then, I ran various offline scans to try to figure out where this was coming from. Zero hits. No matter which virus or malware scanner I use, it finds nothing. How is this possible?
That sounds really alarming! Have you checked for remote access software? Sometimes programs like TeamViewer can be installed without your knowledge.
Also, consider checking your startup programs. Some malware can hide there and run on boot.
I haven’t checked that yet. How do I do it?
Resetting your passwords is a good idea, especially if you suspect someone had access. Also, enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
