Thoughts on the new Pixel Buds Pro 2?

The mic doesn’t work well when it’s windy.

I’m happy they improved the fit since that was my main issue with the first version.

Overall, they’re better but still don’t seem to stand out in any particular area.

Looks like another minor upgrade for this device line.

Multipoint

Does this mean it can connect to two devices at once and switch between them automatically?

AirPods Pro are still my favorite, but I might switch for good multipoint.

Yes, the older Pixel Buds Pro had this feature too. It’s one of the main reasons I bought them.

@Nash
Does it switch by itself, or do you have to manually press to connect? I’ve tried other earbuds that claim multipoint but they never switch on their own. It’d be nice if they could switch automatically between devices.

I’ve been using the original Pixel Buds Pro for a while and I love them, except for how they fit. I’ve preordered these, so fingers crossed they fit better this time.

Pretty let down. I was really hoping for better sound quality. These seem like they’re not as good as AirPods Pro 2 or Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

Can these match the sound quality of my $25 wired headphones? I haven’t found any wireless buds that come close.

Chi-fi IEMs are great for that, but I’ve had issues with dongles… mine started screeching and it’s less than a year old. The wires are way too fragile.

@Cory
I’ve been using Koss Sportapros for years (not the same ones, of course). I connect them to a FiiO BTR5 for Bluetooth. Funny enough, the FiiO Bluetooth buds were the worst I’ve tried.

I’ve been debating getting the BTR5 or BTR7. I have a pair of Sony WF-1000XM5, which are amazing, but even my cheap IEMs have a livelier sound.

Not likely, but if you’re buying wireless buds, you’re probably not doing it just for sound quality.
