Update from Windows 10 to 11 with no internet?

I’ve just upgraded my CPU, which required a motherboard upgrade as well. I ended up getting an MSI MPG Z790 Edge Ti Max. The PC is running, but it’s unable to detect or connect to the internet. After some digging, I found out that this is due to the lack of support for Wi-Fi 7 on Windows 10. My question now is: how do I get this PC to Windows 11? My previous PC couldn’t upgrade, which is why I kept it on 10.

Stickied comment: Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC. For more information, please see our FAQ thread: Windows 11 FAQ.

Your wired connection doesn’t work either?

Correct. I’m wired in with my Ethernet cable and still not connected.

Then you will need a second computer to download the drivers unless your motherboard came with a driver CD and you have an optical drive. If you have a second computer and a thumb drive, you could use the Windows 11 media creation tool to make a bootable drive. Another option is buying a USB to Ethernet adapter; Sabrent makes a good one, and the drivers for it are built into Windows 10.

Create a bootable USB drive with Windows 11 on another machine and use it on your PC.

Download the Windows 11 ISO and burn it to a USB on another PC that is working properly. Then, use the installation USB on your Windows 10 PC.
