I was wondering what the key differences are between Marvel and DC, especially in terms of themes and how they build their worlds. I often hear the idea that Marvel is about humans becoming gods, and DC is about gods trying to be human. But some people say that’s old and outdated. Does that mean their stories are now pretty similar?
Marvel’s timeline has been consistent since the 60s, while DC has had several reboots. Everything’s supposed to be canon in DC now, but there are still clear contradictions.

DC tends to have themes where characters become more godlike and deal with huge world-ending events. Marvel’s themes are more about relatable problems and personal struggles. Marvel’s world feels more connected because of how often characters cross paths and because their stories build on each other. DC’s universe feels more piecemeal, especially after their reboots.
