AI still can’t get basic questions right half the time. Even Google’s AI often misses the mark with more complex searches. There’s been no huge breakthroughs, just faster processing, and most chatbots are just basic response machines. Remote learning doesn’t work as well as in-person either, so adding an AI ‘teacher’ would only make things worse.
In the US, there’s a shift towards privatizing education. Public schools are getting less funding, and people are switching to private or home school vouchers. Eventually, I think privatization will take over in K-12, just like it has in higher ed.
