What kind of fitting is this… anyone know?

I got a radiator with these types of connections, and I need to figure out what adaptors to get. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting this! If you’re asking a question, make sure to include the Year, Make, Model, Mileage, Engine size, and Transmission type of your vehicle.

That’s called a Jiffy-Tite connector. It’s commonly used for transmission or engine oil cooler lines. If your lines are quick-connect types, you’ll use clips to attach them to the radiator. If they’re threaded, just match the thread size with the radiator. If they don’t match, you’ll need adaptors for the threads.

Those look like push-to-connect or quick-connect fittings. Usually, these are used for engine oil coolers, transmission lines, or power steering.

These are for transmission cooler lines. A lot of aftermarket radiators come with them to fit multiple applications.

Not sure about the fitting, but the clip that holds it in place is what we call a ‘Jesus clip.’ You’ll know why when it pops off.

Thanks, everyone. I’m upgrading the radiator on a 454 with a snowplow setup. Most of the other connections are either slip or hydraulic, so I guess I’ll have to match threads and adapt to a hose.

You might want to consider skipping the built-in transmission cooler in the radiator and adding a separate heavy-duty transmission cooler. For a setup like that, it could help a lot with durability.

Looks like a brass fitting to me.
